Dunstanburgh Castle

Just returned from a two week trip to Northumberland and I’m slowly but surely working through the results. Spent a number of days at this location and was fortunate to witness and record the dramatic skies.

Shooting mainly with a digital SLR I also captured photos with two pinhole cameras (6×12 and 6×6). Made some night shots of Berwick-upon-Tweed with the digital SLR and plan to create platinum prints from them. This will keep me pretty busy over the next few weeks!

Dunstanburgh Castle dates from the 14th century and it’s believed the headland was occupied in prehistoric times. The pillbox was constructed during the 1940s.

    • The sea spray was being blown on shore, which along with the tide coming in made it challenging. Spent a number of days here and enjoyed the experience! Thanks for your lovely comment.

  1. Very few people know how difficult landscape photography really is, ( I for one am bad with it) you are great at it. These are stunning!!!!

    • Thanks for taking the time to look and comment 🙂 Yes, it took a lot of effort to get the shot I wanted. Left just in time to avoid a soaking from the incoming tide!
