Road Trip – Brora

Came across this aging petrol station on my way up to Duncansby Head, Scotland. Located on the main road passing through Brora I passed it several times thinking it would make a good subject to photograph. Remnants of a bygone era that fortunately are still with us.

  1. These are great!
Reminds me of the gas pumps I saw when I was very little where you had to hand pump the gas into glass container on top of the pump before it was transferred by hose to the car’s gas tank.

    • Yeah, this place brought back childhood memories for me, when the gas pump attendant came out and filled the car up with fuel. Didn’t even have to get out of the car, hand the money over and the attendant would come back with the change! Thanks for commenting!

  2. Love the photo’s. The black and white really does justice to the age of the subject matter. Was this shot with a digital or a film camera?
