Borrowdale and Castle Crag are close to my heart … very special places I will always return to.
This photo is from January 2011. Castle Crag is a lovely fell to climb … a steep ascent but not too high with superb views all round.

wonderful !!
Thank you, Anne-Laure!
This is an exceptional image, Simon. Very painterly. It would be interesting to see a bigger version as I’m sure there’s lots of detail to enjoy.
Cheers Kevin, thanks for taking a look. Planning to make a 10 x 15 inch print of it.
Stunning.
Thanks Rabirius.
Beautiful!
Thank you!
That is stunning – is it film or digi?
Carol.
Thanks Carol 🙂 This one is digi. Planning to visit this location with a film camera too!
I was thinking it was a film shot – they seem to have a more ethereal quality most of the time for some reason…
Fantastic shot Simon, so atmospheric!
Thanks Adrian. I was very pleased with the conditions which lasted for 15 minutes or so. Took a lot of photos of Castle Crag and Catbells while I had the chance!
Superb conditions, well photographed
Thanks for your kind words, Paula.
Superbly atmospheric
Thanks for your comment Andy, much appreciated.
Wonderful image Simon. Very atmospheric, beautiful lighting and reflections. A real pleasure to view.
Cheers Alan, thanks for the visit and comment. Was one of those fortunate days when good light and conditions briefly made an appearance.
Majestic scenery and image.
Cheers Chris, thanks for taking a look and commenting, I really appreciate it.
Oh Simon, this is magical!
Thank you Estelle, it’s a great location to photograph.
Wow, this shot has it all ~ I can see why this place hits you like it does.
Cheers. Yes, it’s one of my favourite places to explore and photograph. Does not always look like this though – Borrowdale is the wettest place in England with 3.15 metres of rain a year!
While I love the rain, even that is a bit much! Looks so picturesque.
Fantastic landscape with beautiful light
Thank you Ronald, it’s one of my favourite places to photograph.
How have you changed your link colors? By
I paid for a custom package which gives me more control over how the theme looks.
Magnificent.
Cheers John.
Just stunning, Simon!
Thanks Karen, it’s lovely to hear from you. I hope all is well in your part of the world?
Yes, all is well, thank you Simon. I’ve been neglecting the blog world with all the busyness around here. Hoping to get back to it!
Good frame .. little tweet in PS could bring out those wonderful colours hidden there ?
Wonderful!!
Thanks!!
