Here’s an excellent short video from Haussmann Visuals showcasing the spectacular Faroe Islands which I’ll be visiting later this year. I’ve wanted to visit the islands for a number of years so I’m very much looking forward to photographing the stunning landscape and seascape. A great deal of my research for this trip has been done with the assistance of Google Earth – it’s a remarkable aid in getting to know a location.
Also been busy framing prints in preparation for the Solway Arts Exhibition at Allhallows Community Centre, Fletchertown, Wigton, Cumbria, CA7 1BS. Currently trying out some double profile frames which is a departure from the plain frames I’ve used before. The exhibition runs from the 18th August – 27th August 2018, 11.00 am – 4.00 pm. Free entry and the tea room is open for refreshments 🙂
Pretty spectacular place – quite like St. Kilda but a lot more of it (and probably much higher). Jealous!
Cape Enniberg is 2474 ft high so will ensure I don’t venture too close to the edge! Slaettaratindur, the highest mountain, is 2890 ft so won’t be able to bag a Faroe Islands version of a Munro during my visit!
near enough though – I wish I was coming!
We can meet up on the summit of Slaettaratindur!
How fabulous.
I’m really looking forward to it. Hoping the weather and light is as good as in the video.
Good luck with the exhibition! Your works look wonderful framed. I’m excited for you, going to the Faroe Islands!! I look forward to your photos.
Thank you Katherine. Will enjoy exploring the islands and working through the list of locations I’d like to visit and photograph.
Just watched the video. Such stunning, rugged beauty. I feel for those villagers, as with all the dire predictions about global warming, they will be some of the first to be affected by a sea level rise.
Haussmann Visuals have done a great job with the video. I agree, the future isn’t looking good regarding global warming and sea levels. Planning to photograph a number of the villages against the stunning backdrops.
I’m looking forward to seeing your work there! 😃
OMG … what a unbelievably beautiful landscape you will be visiting! Good luck with your art show entries.
Thank you Denise. As well as the art on show, homemade cakes will be available from the tea room 🙂 It was scones last week when I went to an artist’s presentation.
The Faroe Islands look incredible, great video. You will be in photographer’s and nature’s paradise there, looking forward to seeing the results. Cheers and wish you luck with the art show.
Cheers Randall, it’s good to hear from you. I was very pleased to discover this video, I think it beautifully illustrates the dramatic wide open spaces of the Faroe Islands. I hope to come back with a few decent pictures and can’t wait to explore the islands.
That is a most spectacular video!
They did a great job with the video! Now that I’ve visited the islands they certainly lived up to expectations.
The Faeroe Islands is quite a special place isn’t it!
A place I hope to visit again. Enjoyed exploring the islands – spectacular scenery everywhere I went.
