Platinum and Inkjet Prints

prints-6463

Working towards holding a joint exhibition this year so continuing to print, mount and frame some of my work. The table the prints are on belonged to my grandparents – wish they were still here to see this.

From top to bottom:

Three pinhole inkjet prints (4 x 8 inch) from Berwick-upon-Tweed and Sycamore Gap, Hadrian’s Wall.

Two platinum/palladium prints (5 x 8 inch) from Whitehaven and Buttermere in Cumbria.

  1. These are looking great, Simon. I especially like the shots of Buttermere 🙂 I’m really interested in your printing, Simon, and I am presuming you are doing these yourself? Or are you having them done by a fine art printer?

    • Thanks Debbie 🙂 I do all the printing myself. The platinum prints are made using a 19th century printing process which involves using a negative the same size as the final print. Paper is coated with a platinum solution and then contact printed under uv light followed by developing. It’s a great process. How is everything going in your studio?

      • Right, I thought so, they look really special…. Please let me know where and when you are exhibiting and I’ll try to get over to see them for real….(I love my studio, Simon:-))

  2. Smashing mounts and prints Simon. The broad white works very well and I like the square format too. I’m sure it’s going to be a very successful exhibition.
